Anthony DeGennaro
OWNER – PRESIDENT – CONSULTANT
Tony is the owner of Sergio’s Pest Pros. His father, Sergio, founded the company in 1976. Tony has been working in the pest control industry with his father since he was a boy of 10 years old. Many of you remember him accompanying his father to your homes and learning the trade. When Sergio retired to Florida in 1995, Tony purchased the company from him. Tony’s dedication to his business and his philosophy of providing superior customer service fueled Sergio’s expansion just by word of mouth! Now with over 35 years of experience in the pest control industry, Sergio’s Pest Pros is very proud to service over 7,000 clients in the tri-county area.
Tony is married to the love of his life, Susan Papazian Cobb. Together they form an awesome team. Susan assists Tony with the management of employees and daily functions at Sergio’s. Tony also invests many hours assisting Susan with the management and expansion of Hunter House Hamburgers in Birmingham. Together they have raised Tony’s son, Dion (24), and Susan’s two children, son, Kelly (28) and daughter, Jackie (27). When he isn’t working, he takes pleasure in traveling, golf, bowling, snowboarding or just lazing around the pool, always making time to enjoy life with his family and friends.
Dion DeGennaro
After graduating from West Bloomfield High School in 2008, Dion attended Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. In early 2011, he decided to join the family business full time. Dion is excited to take part as a third-generation exterminator in the business his grandpa started almost 40 years ago. Dion started in the business hanging out in the office with his Dad, Tony, when he was just 2 years old. Dion is excited to be involved in the next generation of Sergio’s business and plans to be involved in the business for many years to come
When he is not helping customers with their pest issues, Dion is supporting different soccer teams in the Metro Detroit area. When he isn’t banging on drums or singing for his favorite team, Detroit City FC, you can find him relaxing at home with friends and family.
Tommy
We are proud to introduce you to Tommy, who has been happily married for 23 years and has 3 children. Tommy is a fisherman, and a hunter – his largest kill was a 6 point buck. His interests include auto racing (though his wife won’t let him participate), and he is a huge University of Michigan Sports Fan.
Tommy has a positive and outgoing personality, a ready smile, and is very enthusiastic about his work. He has had previous experience spraying trees and shrubs, keeping them pest free. He has been in Pest Control for 6 years and is Certified with the Michigan Department of Agriculture in Wood Destroying Insects, Mosquito Control, and General Pest Management. Interestingly, he is also an Arachnid Specialist and a member of the American Arachnological Society, and can identify nearly every spider – he says his friends and neighbors bring them to him in baggies for him to ID.
Tommy is a great team member, and we are proud to have him as a Sergio’s Pest Professional, assisting in keeping your family safe and your home pest free.
Lisa
Our Office Manager is the backbone of our company, and you will never meet a more kind, caring and dedicated Office Manager than Lisa. Lisa has been married to Jim (Tony’s golfing and bowling buddy) for over 20 years. Lisa is a very busy mother of 4 children and 3 pets. She and Jim’s oldest daughter recently married a wonderful new son-in-law, and their 2 teenage daughters are both involved in many different sports and hobbies. They are also very proud of their son, who is serving our country as a US Marine. Lisa’s extended family is on the west side of our state, and down south, hence, her love of country music.
There is a saying that if you want something done right the first time, ask a busy person. That’s Lisa. Lisa left her job as Lead Customer Service Manager at Staples and came to Sergio’s in 2011. She brought along her very strong expertise in patience and customer service skills. Scheduling and problem solving are a huge part of Lisa’s job. Should you have the need to call our office, she will handle your situation with utmost concern and efficiency. She will also pass your concerns on to our technicians, as she has a great working relationship with them.
Lisa runs an efficient office and balances out our strong work force and well-rounded team to handle whatever situation arises. Her goal is to keep our customers happy!
Sergio Vincente DeGennaro 1934 – 2017
Sadly, my father and our beloved founder, Sergio DeGennaro, died unexpectedly of kidney cancer Thursday March 23, 2017, near his residence in Parrish, Florida. Sergio wished to be cremated and his ashes spread in the Gulf of Mexico. There will be a private memorial near his home in Florida for immediate family. No flowers please. All donations can be made in his name to any children’s hospital, animal shelter or any organization that supports our veterans. He was also a supporter of Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium of Sarasota, Florida.
