Keeping Your Family Safe from Harmful Chemicals At Sergio's, we practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM), which is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common sense practices. IPM programs use current, comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interactions with the environment. This information, in combination with available pest control methods, is used to manage pest damage by the most economical means and with the least possible hazard to people, pets, property, and the environment. IPM programs take advantage of all pest management options possible - including, but not limited to, the judicious use of pesticides. The choice of using a pesticide is based on a review of all other available options and a determination that these options are not acceptable or are not feasible. Non-chemical pest management methods will be implemented whenever possible to provide the desired control. The full range of alternatives, including no action, will be considered. When it is determined that a pesticide must be used in order to meet important management goals, the least hazardous material will be chosen. Our company takes the responsibility to notify customers of upcoming pesticide treatments. Our Service Technicians are certified and trained in the principles and practices of IPM and the use of pesticides approved by the State of Michigan, and they must follow regulations and label precautions. Flexible Scheduling With Exact Service Times We have very flexible scheduling and always show up at the time specified. We can also be trusted with a key to service the home if it is inconvenient for the homeowner to be present. We send out service notices 10 days before the regularly scheduled appointments, and then we call to confirm the appointment with the customer 2 days prior. All of our post card notifications for service have exact arrival times. If we are running late by more than 10-15 minutes, our staff will notify the customer and offer them the option of rescheduling, so that our customers are never waiting and wondering. We leave time slots open in our technician's routes to be able to service clients who have an emergency. We use the latest technology in our office. Web-based software takes care of our scheduling needs. We use GPS to track our technicians' progress throughout the day; and cell phones and pagers for immediate communications between the technicians, the office and our customers. We have reliable state-of-the-art service vehicles and equipment. Keeping Your Valuables Safe We have been servicing the finest homes in the tri-county area for over 3 decades. Our technicians are trained to be very conscientious and are accustomed to treating around valuable personal items. We allow our service technicians plenty of time to complete their work at each stop so that they are never rushed and are always thorough. They are careful not to damage any of your personal belongings. At Sergio's, we allow adequate time between appointments because we know that most accidents happen when technicians are overbooked. All of our employees have to pass complete background and reference checks before they are hired. They have clean driving records and have never been in trouble with the law. Our technicians treat each customer's home or business as if they were treating their boss's home. We stand behind our service technicians, but we also tell our customers that it is common sense to put any valuables away. Our company is so well trusted that we have customer's keys and alarm codes in our possession. Our company is built on trust and we service three generations to prove it. We are insured and bonded and have never had any lawsuits filed against us. Friendly and Knowledgeable Technicians Our technicians are certified by the State of Michigan, Department of Agriculture. They have passed exams covering many different areas of pest control, which include the Core Safety Exam, General Pest Control Exam, Commercial Pest Control Exam, Wood Destroying Insects Exam, Rodent and Animal Control Exam and Mosquito Control Exam. They must be recertified in all of these categories every three years. They must carry a certification card and present it whenever they are asked. When a technician is hired at Sergio's Pest Control, for a period of at least one month, he must train with one of our 20-year veterans. Our technicians are also continually reviewing industry publications to stay abreast of the latest techniques being developed. They have one on one training to become experts with the equipment that they use. Their performance is constantly reviewed by our service managers. We have over 3 decades of experience in the industry, and many of our technicians have over 20 years of field experience. It takes years to become a master technician. Our customers trust our evaluations because we have proven over time that we have the best methods. Educating Our Clients When customers call, we estimate a quote for their specific pest problem. Since prices are based on the type of problem as well as the size of the dwelling, an actual price will be given once the technician inspects and reports his findings to the customer. Our technicians take the time to educate the customer and address all of their concerns. They are prepared to perform the service at the time of the inspection. We also have detailed brochures on our treatment programs that explain our procedures. Our website has valuable tips which help prevent the pests in the first place, as well as product safety information. Through our website, a customer may also purchase do-it-yourself items with step-by-step instructions on usage. Guaranteed Results Our service is guaranteed. Every dwelling is different. Once a thorough inspection has been completed, the technician recommends the best course of action to be taken. We practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Understanding pests' needs is essential to implementing IPM effectively. Pests seek habitats that provide basic needs such as air, moisture, food, and shelter. Pest populations can be prevented or controlled by creating inhospitable environments, by removing some of the basic elements pests need to survive, or by simply blocking their access into buildings. Pests may also be managed by other methods such as traps, vacuums, or pesticides. An understanding of what pests need in order to survive is essential before action is taken.
