Maxforce Fire Ant Killer Granular Bait (2 lbs.). Active Ingredient: 1.0% Hydramethylnon, 99% Inert Ingredients. Fire ant mounds can go as deep as 15 feet below the surface, and have numerous queens. Drenching the mound with an insecticide in most cases will not be sufficient to eradicate the colony. This product is meant for the worker ants to carry the product back to the colony and feed it to the other ants. Its delayed-action kill ensures that the product is spread throughout the colony before it takes effect. USE: Best applied with a hand spreader. Do not apply more than 2 lbs. per acre. Can be applied inside homes and buildings around non-food areas. For direct application around mounds, distribute bait uniformly around the mound. DO NOT apply residual insecticides or sprays near baits as these will deter ants from taking the bait.
